Returns & Refund Policy

At HeadLite, we provide specialised services including headlight repair, restoration, Bi-LED retrofitting, plastic welding, and customisation. Due to the custom and service-based nature of our work, returns and refunds are limited and subject to the terms below. Please see our full Terms and Conditions for more.

1. Returns

We do not accept returns on any completed service work, as all jobs involve time, materials, and labour specific to your headlights.

Returns are not accepted for:

  • Headlight repairs or restoration

  • Custom headlight builds

  • Bi-LED retrofitting

  • Plastic welding

  • Lens changes or resealing

  • Services carried out on customer-supplied headlights

If you believe something is wrong with your completed order, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving it. Include photos and a clear explanation of the issue. We'll assess the situation and respond in line with our warranty and service terms.

2. Important Disclaimers – Please Read Before Booking

  • Internal Component Risk:
While very rare, internal components like control modules, motors, or wiring can become damaged during the headlight opening process. This is an inherent risk when working on sealed units, and HeadLite is not responsible for any such internal failures that occur during disassembly.

  • Prone-to-Crack Housings:
Some headlight shells—especially those with brittle or aged plastics—are more likely to crack during lens removal or retrofitting. If this occurs, we may need to plastic weld the housing, especially during Lens Change services. This is uncommon, but possible.

  • Inspection & Access Fees:
In some cases, a headlight must be fully opened for assessment. Some units can be unglued without cutting the lens, while others require the lens to be cut off. If, after inspection, the damage is too severe to repair and you wish to proceed only with a lens replacement, a new lens must be purchased and fitted.

  • Assessment/labour charge: £75 (non-refundable) + in some cases removal of the headlight charge and any parts used.

3. Refunds

Refunds may only be issued under the following conditions:

  • The customer cancels before any work has begun

  • HeadLite is unable to complete the requested service due to technical or compatibility limitations

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • Customer changing their mind after work has started

  • Sending the wrong part or a part in worse condition than described

  • Damage unrelated to the service or caused after return shipping

  • Internal or cosmetic issues declared pre-service and agreed to proceed with

If a partial refund is applicable (e.g., early-stage cancellation):

  • A standard £75 fee applies to cover admin and preparation time

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

4. Cancellations

To cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

  • If no work has begun, you will receive a full refund.

  • If prep work or disassembly has started, a £75 cancellation fee applies + cost of parts used.

  • No refunds are available once significant work has been completed.

5. Returns of Unused Parts

We may accept returns of unused parts (e.g., angel eyes kits, Bi-LED projectors) only if they were sold separately and are still in new, unused condition. Contact us within 14 days of delivery to request a return. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.
