Plastic Welding

Plastic welding service

A highly effective, cost-saving alternative to full replacement, plastic welding works on most OEM headlight units. We primarily weld headlight housings, but you’re welcome to enquire about other components—we’ll let you know if the repair is possible.

Plastic welding is recommended when:

  • Your headlight has broken mounting tabs

  • The housing is cracked or split

  • Previous glue or adhesive repairs have not held

This service is especially useful for preserving original headlights, maintaining perfect fitment, and avoiding the high cost of replacements—particularly for rare or discontinued models.

Not sure if your headlight can be repaired? Just get in touch with our team—we’ll inspect the damage and let you know the best repair option for your setup.

The process of plastic welding

Assessment – We inspect the damage to determine if welding is suitable and identify the type of plastic.

Preparation – The area is cleaned and sanded for a proper bond.

Plastic Welding – Using heat, the plastic is fused back together with compatible filler material and steel wool.

Reinforcement – Metal staples may be added to strengthen the repair, if necessary.

Finishing – The welded area is smoothed, reshaped, and checked.

Optional Sealing – If part of a retrofit or reseal job, the headlight is reassembled and sealed for moisture protection.
